[A Must Read] See Five Evidences That Proves Davido Bought All His Songs

February 09, 2018 0

Right from time immemorial, most artiste are always in charge of their song creation. From the recording of lyrics to the final input, the artiste is the executive producer of his work.

However, we’ve witnessed artistes selling songs or co-writing songs for each other. Beyonce bought the smash hit “Irreplaceable” from Neyo, Rihanna got “Diamond” from Sia and the list is endless.

However, back here in Nigeria, the case is different. Most artistes write their songs as these artistes know what it takes after being bred and educated during their early years. But there are artistes who have to rely entirely on the output of their ghostwriters and songwriters for them to make any meaningful music.

Example of such is Davido (No Offence).

Let’s see scenarios where Davido has had to rely on his ghostwriters.

1. AYE

Davido‘s 2014 hit was written by Runtown. Even though Runtown had denied it, everything about the song speaks Runtown.

From the lyrics to the producer which was Tspize, Runtown’s favorite producer, the sing was 100% Runtown hands down.

2. FALL & FIA

For those who don’t know, one of Davido‘s new acts, Peruzzi wrote Fia and Fall.

The reports that went round was that Peruzzi was Davido’s Ghostwriter and Davido decided to make him an integral part of his record label and also give him recognition by signing him to the record label.

3. PERE

We all know the story behind this song. Apparently, while Dammy Krane was still languishing behind bars in the US, Davido bought the song “Pere” from Dammy Krane.

Dammy Krane had earlier recorded the song with Producer HOD and it was one of those songs in Dammy Krane’s archives but after signing on to DMW and also in a bid to pledge loyalty and stay relevant, he sold the song to Davido.

The song received a mash-up from DJ Mustard and had HOD ranting on Twitter about his loss.

4. GBAGBE OSHI
Originally sang by General Pype and produced by Shizzi, Davido probably heard the song and fell in love with it. He reached out to Pype and offered to pay over a million Naira for the song.

Pype whose career has suffer a bit of recession decided to sell the song to Davido. Davido recorded the entire thing with his frog voice and made it the lead single of his 2016 EP, Son of Mercy.

Few weeks after Davido dropped the song, General Pype decided to release the original version thereby putting Davido into another mess.

5. LIKE DAT

Davido‘s last hit for 2017 “Like Dat” was one of those songs that was slept on in 2017. Most amazing fact is it was written by Tenie TheEntertainer.

Days before it was released, Teniola tweeted that The song was written by her and gave Davido a shout-out for giving her a chance.

6. IF

While many won’t believe this, If was written by Tekno. Produced by Tekno, evidence gives that Tekno Miles wrote IF due to the simplicity of how the song is sung/written.

Tekno has similar songs such as Pana and Diana that contain the simple style as If.

The End!!

With all this pointed out, one really need to ask 👇

Can Davido Ever Write Any Of His Songs By Himself?

Check Out The Top 5 Music That Shook The Whole Of Nigeria (Number 3 Was A Major Hit)

February 04, 2018 0

The release of hit songs that makes music fans stay awake is not a new thing in Nigeria.

As a matter of fact, we have been enjoying many hit singles before the introduction of new generation artistes like Wizkid, Davido and sorts.

There have been major hit singles from the onset that made us feel on top of the world back in the days and below are the top 5 in no particular order:

1. Fall In Love By D’banj: The koko master himself, was apparently the biggest musician from Nigeria in those days. His songs is always at the top of every chart and in recent time one of the first artistes to feature a foreign artiste in the country.

Fall in love was a song even the deaf danced to, a love song that is palatable to the ears of old and young people of both genders. The song further got attention when the visuals came out which featured the top Nigerian actress “Genevieve” which sparked dating rumor between them as they were caught kissing in the video of the hit single.

2. Kerewa By Zule Zoo: Many of you would still be sucking mama’s breast during the time of Zule Zoo. It made a lot of wave in the country, even though the type of lyrics contained in the track would be likened to the type of songs the NBC would ban if it was sang in this modern day.

We are not sure of where they are currently, but we are glad they are part of the history in Nigerian music industry.

3. Yahooze By Olu Maintain: Yahoo! Oh Oh, was like a national anthem in the country then, arguably the song of the century in the nation. The song which came with the famous dancing move of moving hands upward made it to everybody’s playlist.

Olu Maintain caught the attention of people of all ages in Nigeria and whoever that didn’t listen to the song was undoubtedly living under the rock.

Lest I forget, when the Super Falcons of Nigeria won the 2007 U-17 world cup competition. Olu maintain is the artiste invited by Yar’adua the then president of Nigeria to perform for the team at the welcome party in Abuja. This shows the kind of gravity the song had at the period.

4. African Queen By 2face: 2baba is considered one of the living legends because in the industry because of this track that catapulted his career even to the outer world.

The song is indeed evergreen that even if played now. It would still fit into the recent time type of music people would love to listen to. African queen was/is a hit and 2baba is a legend. No doubt about that.

5. Mr Lecturer: By Eedris Abdulkareem: Eedris was African 50 cent. He is rugged and one of the very minute musicians who can sing to condemn the government even to the face of the government officials.

Mr Lecturer is a dramatic song that explains what our young ladies face in higher institutions from lecturers and it is one of the song Nigerian loved so well.

Eedris is part of the singers in Nigeria we can call a legend and no bigger music was done by him other than Mr Lecturer.

There are many hit singles that rocked the music phase of Nigeria but the aforementioned are just some of them. Which one do you enjoy most out of the songs? Or which other song should make the list.

Drop your opinion in the comment box.

Do You Think D’banj Stooped Low To Have Featured Shaku-Shaku Artiste Like Slimcase & Mr. Real?

Do You Think D’banj Stooped Low To Have Featured Shaku-Shaku Artiste Like Slimcase & Mr. Real?

Hello Everyone,

Just in case you don’t know, D’banj has finally dropped his own Shaku Shaku song titled “Issa Banger” featuring Oshozondi Crooner, Slimcase and Legbegbe crooner, Mr. Real.

Listen & Download the Song HERE

No doubt, the Koko Master himself is a talented hitmaker, his musics has travelled beyond the shore of Nigeria and has been able to place Nigerian Music on the World Map.

Songs like “Oliver Twist“, “Fall In Love“, “Mr Endowed“, and other massive hit songs that make D’Banj a world class act and not naturally a Street or Shaku-shaku razz musician.

Following his long-term good music famine and gradual loss of relevance in the music industry, D’banj decided to follow the trend by featuring upcoming street shaku-shaku acts, Oshozondi Crooner, Slimcase and Legbegbe crooner, Mr. Real on the song “Issa Banger” to at least enjoy some attention to stay a bit relevant.

Five years ago, no one would have ever thought D’banj will feature upcoming street artistes like Slimcase and Mr Real or even get close to them at all but today, he bent down to their level so he can enjoy and get some attention riding on their influence.

So Guys, considering D’banj Classy Antecedents, his International Recognitions, his Legacies and Awards 👇

Do You Think D’Banj Stooped So Low To Have Featured Shaku-Shaku/Street Artiste Slimcase And Mr. Real?

“Wizkid And Shatta Wale Are Both Superstars” — Yemi Alade Declares

Yemi Alade had a chat with Bola Ray on Starr Chat in Ghana, and she spoke about a lot of things… We previously brought you reports where she waded into the Nigeria-Ghana Jollof wars, and tagged it as senseless.. (READ HERE)

Now, here’s what she said about the Wizkid-Shatta Wale drama.

She says she sees Nigeria’s Wizkid and Ghana’s Dancehall artiste, Shatta wale as both great artistes, and superstars in their own zones.

The Multiple award-winning singer added that she sees both of them as great artists who perform very well in their area of specialization and won’t prefer one to the other.

“I think Wizkid is a superstar in his own right and Shatta Wale is celebrated by his people for his great talent and they are both great artists and super stars”. She said.

Recall, the self-acclaimed dancehall king in an interview recently on Kasapa FM said he will not see Wizkid and be stunned but rather want him to see him and be amazed because he does not see anything extraordinary about him, even though he claims to the best African artiste.

Many people outside and inside the African continent, mainly Nigerians after this controversial interview has severely criticized Shatta Wale for stepping on Wizkid who had no previous beef with him.

However, the French used artiste speaking in an interview recently condemned Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie for rejecting her collaboration on several occasions-tagged him as a disrespectful artiste.

The Big Question is :

Is Shatta Wale A Superstar ?

2017 has been a great year for African pop singers Wizkid and Davido as they have independently recorded massive successes both locally and globally.

DAVIDO

Davido is credited to have the two hottest African pop songs of 2017 IF and FALL and the former earned a lengthy verse from RnB Veteran – Rkelly.
The singer also collaborated with Rapper – Yung Thug and American Trap group – Rae Sremmurd on his third release themed ‘Pere’.
The completion of his ’30 Billion World Tour’ which took singer to 30 cities across the world is also a very applaudable feat.

Meet The World’s Highest-Paid Women In Music 2017

Meet The World’s Highest-Paid Women In Music 2017

Beyonce has been declared as the 2017 highest paid woman in music after raking in a whopping $105 million this year.

Shortly after Adele took home the Grammy award for Album of the Year in February, she broke it in half–with the intention of physically sharing it with Beyoncé, the internet concluded—in recognition of the latter’s Lemonade.
But Queen Bey won an even more valuable distinction outright: she’s this year’s highest-paid woman in music, pulling in a whopping $105 million pretax.
Lemonade was a hit with both critics and fans, giving Beyoncé her sixth solo No. 1. The ensuing Formation World Tour, much of it falling into our list’s scoring period, grossed a quarter of a billion dollars.

Then she took time off as she and husband Jay-Z welcomed twins Rumi and Sir this summer. Adele finished second, earning $69 million, boosted by seven-figure nightly grosses on her first proper tour since 2011.

Adele’s music appeals to listeners of all ages all over the world with her undeniably powerful, emotional vocal interpretations paired with timeless songwriting and production,” says multiplatinum singer-songwriter Skylar Grey. No matter what genre someone generally subscribes to, it’s hard to find a music lover who doesn’t appreciate what she does.

In order to form our list, we looked at pretax income from June 1, 2016 through June 1, 2017, and did not take out fees charged by agents, managers and lawyers. We gathered data from Nielsen SoundScan, Pollstar, the RIAA and interviews with industry insiders. The two mononymous stars both earned tens of millions more than the rest of the pack, but there are plenty of notable names further down the list.

Taylor Swift raked in $44 million to claim the No. 3 spot, representing a significant dip from the peak of her 1989 Tour. With the release of new alum Reputation—already the best-selling album of 2017—which came after the end of this list’s scoring period, look for her earnings total to rise significantly in next year’s accounting.

Celine Dion ranks fourth with $42 million, resuming a lucrative Las Vegas residency last February after going on hiatus in the wake of her husband’s January 2016 death. Jennifer Lopez rounds out the top five with $38 million, also boosted by a standing Sin City gig, as well as new show World of Dance, where she serves as both judge and producer.

The rest of the list proves that age is just a number: 71-year-old Dolly Parton (No. 6, $37 million) still tours with the rigor of stars half her age, grossing mid-six figures per city across 63 dates during our scoring period; Barbra Streisand (No. 10, $30 million) remains a huge draw even at 75, selling $46 million worth of tickets on her 14-show stint last year. Next up: Netflix special Barbra: The Music…The Mem’ries…The Magic!

Earning double-digit millions does not guarantee a spot on this vaunted list—as near misses Madonna, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande can attest. The first two names should be back in the running the next time they go on tour; the latter two could be, too, as their careers continue to progress.
Despite the success of the female stars on the list, there are regrettably still more than twice as many men than women among music’s top-earning stars. Acts like the ninth-highest-paid woman, Katy Perry–who earned millions from endorsement deals with the likes of CoverGirl, Claire’s and H&M–are doing their best to change that.

I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company,” she told Forbes. “I’m an entrepreneur. … I don’t want to shy away from it. I actually want to kind of grab it by its balls.
As for Adele’s Grammy? Sorry, folks–it seems she broke it in half by accident.
See list of top 10 highest paid women in music

1. Beyonce $105 million
2. Adele $69 million
3. Taylor Swift $44 million
4. Celine Dion $42 million
5. Jennifer Lopez $38 million
6. Dolly Parton $37 million
7. Rihanna $36 million
8. Britney Spears $34 million

Obahold Music Review! “FIA” by Davido – A Mega Hit or Just An Average Over Hyped Song?

Davido‘s new song “FIA” currently has 328,494 Streams on Naijaloaded and 305 comments barely 24 hrs after it was published on Naijaloaded.

While fans are still yet to get over Davido’s latest hits, ‘IF’ and ‘Fall’, the singer has released yet another single titled “FIA“.

Davido is enjoying a banner year with a successful tour and back to back hit songs and he’s showing no signs of complacency.

He comes through with another potential hot sauce, entitled “FIA” and the fire tune was produced by Fresh.

In all, despite losing three of his friends to the unfortunate hands of death, one can say it’s been a good year for Davido.

One thing that has gotten the attention of so many is his consistency through the year. He did an amazing job and should be rewarded handsomely for his unrelenting effort.

This is definitely one of the songs that will rule the festive season for sure.

NL Music Review! “Mama” By Tekno Featuring Wizkid, An Inspirational Hit or Just a Poor Collabo?

November 21, 2017 0

NL Music Review! “Mama” By Tekno Featuring Wizkid, An Inspirational Hit or Just a Poor Collabo?

In case you missed “Is FIA by Davido – A Mega Hit or Just An Average Over Hyped Song?”

“Where there is desire, there is going to be a flame radiating the hustle and where there is flame, someone is bound to blow” — Adekunle Jelili

In the inspirational sound of “Mama“, a new tune by Tekno featuring Wizkid is a fully packed motivational track of the year 2017 and we can only say a big congratulation to Tekno for the unimaginable height he has attained in the industry.

TEKNO’s LYRICS

Apparently, this is the first time Tekno is telling his hustle story in a song. You will recall that the self-acclaimed Slimdaddy used to be a Thing Daddy back then in 2013 on the song “Holiday” featuring Davido, the song that actually brought him to the forefront of millions of music lovers.

With MAMA‘s motivation and day-by-day hustle, the boy finally blow like pa ra ram pa ra ra ra ram, fire like rocket, flies on private and features Wizkid, who is currently Africa’s most recognized act all over the world.

For Wizkid, the song is an opportunity to continue the Ojuelegba story, how the Banky W’s small boy grew from nothing to become worldwide star boy.

WIZKID’s LYRICS

The zanga story of Wizkid is definitely a motivation for an average Nigerian youth hustling in the ghetto. Wizkid has shown that you don’t need a stinkingly rich background to clinch the top.

With hardwork, originality and consistency you too can become a SOCKET for the rich Kids to PLUG 😂😂

For clarity sake, Wizkid rose from the Zanga to become the only voice promoting the Afro-beat sound in the international music scene. Therefore, all African act on the international radar right now, are only PLUGGING into his prepared SOCKET.

One would have anticipated a groovy dance track from a Tekno and Wizkid collaboration but the idea of coming up with this well thought out inspirational song is excellent.

Only those with sound music minds and strong attention to details will understand the dopeness of this track!!

Overall, We rate the song 8.5/10 ★★★★★★★★❂☆
