A Possible Fix for Low Earpiece Volume on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus
I recently purchased an iPhone 6 and I immediately noticed that the volume of the phone call through the earpiece was much lower than my iPhone 5.
The volume of the loudspeaker was more than loud enough, but the small volume of the earphone - although it was at the maximum volume during the call - made it difficult for the person to understand the other end.
A quick Google search for a low volume iphone 6 headset raises similar problems.
A possible software solution
As mentioned in the iMore forums, a possible update to Settings> General> Accessibility> Hearing Aids and turns on the hearing aid mode. After I did this and made a call, the volume was only half, although I remembered setting the volume to the maximum during the previous call. I increased the volume to the maximum and I noticed a significant difference.
I've also noticed that if you enable the hearing mode to On, you can not switch any more Phone Noise Cancel to On (which is enabled by default in iOS 8). I have the impression that setting the noise level of the phone is the real culprit, and the actual repair consists of simply deleting, making a call and adjusting your phone call volume to the maximum.
A possible physical solution
If the above hotfix does not work for you, simply clean the headset. According to the number of comments below, for which it worked, this could be the actual actual correction.
Be careful when cleaning your phone. I am not responsible, nor more, for damages to your phone.
After reading this page and what everyone said, I decided to look at my phone closer and I used my fingernail to gently rub it on my ear (if you're like me, your phone goes anywhere in your pocket, on the floor, on the tables, on the chairs of the purse ... you call it, your phone was probably there.) When I gently scratched my ear, I noticed the dirt or dirt came out of the enclosure on the phone, me decided to take a dry q tip and rub the ear vigorously, at which end the q tip was covered in "NASTY" took a bit of grinding alcohol and held my cell phone face down (screen on the floor ), so I did not have it in my phone and I got something on the q-tip and then I rubbed slightly the q -tip through the earphone and to my surprise my phone now works perfectly without having to have hearing aid.
