Apple Details Massive iPhone 8 Feature Cancellation

The iPhone 8 will change everything: how you shoot an iPhone, how you use it, how to release it and how much you have to pay. This is a game switch device for Apple AAPL + 0.01% in many ways, but the new information also highlighted the biggest cancellation ...

For months that leak after the leak, the iPhone 8 would come with a fingerprint reader built into the screen, but suddenly it disappeared. Like Samsung, Apple could not get the sophisticated technology in time for its 2017 flagship and it was canceled. Doubling therefore his facial recognition system facial ID, removing touch ID. But now it's back

A finalized prototype of the iPhone 8 shows the missing home button and the touch ID is not recorded elsewhere, but Apple is working to bring it back

While the iPhone 8 is missing, a new patent discovered by AppleInsider shows that Apple continues to work to perfect the technology. US Patent No. 9,747,488 entitled "Active

Sensing Element for Acoustic Imaging Systems" describes a method for reading a fingerprint for ultrasound recognition authentication.

The acoustic system transmits an acoustic pulse that can pass through a second layer ("substrate") and is reflected onto the piezoelectric transducers that determine the image of an object that touches the substrate. In the case of fingerprints, their peaks and valleys produce unique acoustic boundaries that allow them to distinguish themselves. Smart things.

The patent also distorts Apple's approach to technology regulation, which it recognizes, may require high voltages. This would accurately monitor the drive signal, voltage bias, and bulk reference for each unit that effectively generates an "active sensor".

The failure of Samsung to integrate the fingerprint sensor into its Galaxy 2017 screens has moved them to an annoying position next to the rear camera

But while it seems that Apple is close to mastering the technology, the iPhone 8 is not a what must be a disappointment frustrating potential as a differentizer. Especially if Samsung (and it is a big one) manages to build that in its Galaxy S9 or touch 9 in 2018.

As such, the obvious target for Apple will be the next year iPhone update, which should have a plus model to carry an ad as big as 6.46 inches. The slip generator puts Apple in a strange position where touch ID disappears for a single generation, but when the iPhone 8 crashes before its heavy functionality, I think this is something that most potential owners can forgive.

Not long to wait now…
