Nature has the amazing ability to restore our sense of inner peace. When was the last time you were immersed in the natural world away from the stress and pressure of everyday life?
I think "relax" is an accurate description of how nature has been on us when we give it a chance. The pace of modern life can easily make us react. We call it stress, is not it? Well, nature is an excellent remedy for stress and, in fact, this is one of my favorites.
3 days active stress unfold
Every year in September, my wife and I, our daughter and her husband do little vacation in Sunriver, Oregon. It is a beautiful resort 15 miles south of Bend, on the east side of the Cascade Mountains. The setting is pine, lava rock, many black deer, miles of cycle paths and the beautiful Deschutes River.
We always take our bikes on the warm years and we also bring kayaks. This year we concentrated on the bike and I wanted to share with you one of our most popular routes. In Sunriver, the Deschutes River is wide and quiet, but downstream, it becomes much more active.
If so, Benham Grab is not a waterfall, but a series of impressive rapids. I love the fast bellowing and I feel totally refreshed and stressed when I am around. The trip was about 3 hours and I wanted to share with you the photographic strength.
Sunriver has become a family tradition for us. It takes less than 4 hours to get there, and that is something we really expect. I encourage you to emphasize your own freedom to create tradition, so that nature can do their restoration miracles on you.
We will only stay for 3 or 4 nights, so the cost of a comfortable house with hot tub hire and a barbecue are very manageable and the rewards are not worth the price. We were made in peace to live in nature. If you feel a bit about the feeling, let me let nature relax. Works for us every time!
