What does it take to be successful? A positive attitude? Well, of course, but that's not enough. The law of attraction? The secret? These ideas could serve as stimulants to action, but the action itself, they do not do much.
The success, but it is defined, take action and take appropriate and appropriate action. Some of these skills (not enough, though) are taught in school (not good enough, either), others are taught to work, and others, we learn from the experiences in general lives.
The following is a list of skills to find that will allow anyone to get in front of any field in handy to run a business to a garden club. Of course, there are specific skills in each area, but I am affected by the skills that translate between disciplines, to those that can be learned by anyone in any position.
1. Public Speaking
The ability to speak clearly, compellingly and forcefully before an audience - whether an audience of 1 or thousands - is one of the most important skills someone can develop. People who are effective speakers find themselves more comfortable with themselves, safer and more attractive. The ability to speak effectively means that you can sell something - products, of course, but also ideas, ideologies, worldview. And even - which means more opportunities for career development, larger customers or corporate finance.
2. Writing
Writing and offering many of the same benefits as the right words: good writers are better at selling products, ideas and self as bad writers. Not only is mastering the grammar to learn, but the development of the ability to organize his thoughts into a coherent form and to reach an audience in the most efficient way possible. The huge amount of text generated by almost all transactions generated - right bottoms and legislation in the thousands of pages you get get to go when you buy gum these days - someone who knows the writing can open doors in almost all areas ,
3. Self-management
When success depends on effective action, effective action depends on the ability to focus attention where it is needed most when it needs it most. Strong organizational skills, effective productivity habits and a strong sense of discipline are needed to keep you on course.
4. Networking
Networking is not just finding jobs or customers. In an economy dominated by ideas and innovation, networking creates the channel through which ideas develop and in which new ideas arise. A large network, meticulously maintained, connects a not only a body of people but to a set of relationships, and these relationships are more than the sum of their parts. The interactions that make these relationships possible lead to innovation and creativity - and support new ideas until they can be realized.
5. Critical thinking
We are exposed to hundreds, if not thousands of information on a daily basis as our great grandparents. The ability to evaluate this information, sort the potentially valuable from the trivial, analyze its relevance and importance, and links to other information is crucial and, unfortunately, teaches. Good Skills to Critical Think right away from the crowd of people nowadays stand out.
6. Decision making
The bridge goes from analysis to action is an effective decision-making process - knowing what to do based on the information. Although this is not critical, it can be dangerous, you can also analyze before deciding to wait too much or wait for more information. The ability to take the stage and react quickly and effectively is what separates the makers from the wannabes.
7. Mathematics
You should not be polynomials capable of integrating, being successful. However, to approach the ability to work quickly with numbers in the head, but fairly accurate estimates, and to understand things like compound interest rates and basic data gives you a great lead over most people. All these skills will help you to analyze data more efficiently - and faster - and make better decisions based on that.
8. Research
Nobody can expect to know everything, even a small fraction of all. Also in your area there are chances that there is much you do not know you know. You do not need to know everything, but you should be able to quickly and painlessly find out what you need to know. This means learning to use the Internet effectively, learn how to use a library, learn to read productively and learn how to use your network of contacts - and what types of research will work best in a particular situation.
9. Relaxation
Stress kills you not only, it leads to bad decisions, bad thinking and bad socialization. So be sure to relax, you have eliminated at least three abilities, the list - and really more. In addition, living yourself further, dying and not having the time to enjoy the fruits of your work is not really "success". It's an obsession. The possibility to encounter even the most urgent crises with your mind about you and most productive way is perhaps the most important thing on this list.
10. Basic Accounting
It is a simple fact in our society that money is necessary. Even the simple pleasures in life, such as embrace your child, will eventually need money - or you will not embrace you very long to embrace. Knowing how to track and record your costs and your income is important just to survive, let alone thrive. But more than that, the principles of accounting apply more widely to things like tracking the time you spend on a project or whether the value of an action prevails which costs money, time and effort. It is a shame that accounting is not a necessary part of the core curriculum K-12.
